Peter obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of London in 1986 and then his Postgraduate Certificate of Laws from the University of Hong Kong in 1987. He was an Inspector in the Customs and Excise Department before joining the legal profession in 1987. As a founding partner of Hau, Lau, Li and Yeung, Peter's major emphasis of practice is in merger and acquisitions, corporate, real estate development projects and related financial arrangements, conveyancing, intellectual property and PRC related commercial projects. He was one of the legal advisors of the Disciplined Services Consultative Council (staff side) and the Association of Customs and Excise Services Officers, President of Lions Club and Chairman of Old Boys' Association of St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese School.
